Empowering Immigrant Families, Transforming Communities: Leadership in Action
Caty Padilla is the Executive Director of Nuestra Casa, leading the organization since 2018. The daughter of immigrants who settled in the Lower Yakima Valley in 1990, she grew up in a migrant farmworker family, moving along the Yakima River as her parents sought job opportunities. She earned a degree in Business Administration from Heritage University.
Under Caty’s leadership, Nuestra Casa has expanded its impact by developing programs that provide immigrant families with educational opportunities and essential resources, empowering them to overcome systemic inequities. She is deeply committed to the transformative power of education as a pathway to a healthier, more fulfilling life.
Caty was recognized as one of Yakima Valley’s “39 Under 39” in 2021 for her contributions to the nonprofit sector. In 2024, she was honored with the Estrella Award for Nonprofit Leadership in recognition of her dedication to serving immigrant communities.
